I live in BC’s northern interior nestled under Stekyawden Mountain in the beautiful Hazeltons. I moved here from urban southern Ontario to be near family, and to learn the language of wood heat, wilderness silence, garden harvests, and much more.
In my Ontario career I worked as a health policy analyst and researcher. I held positions in the Ontario Council of Teaching Hospitals, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Institute for Work and Health, and McMaster University. Prior to moving to BC I headed a full-time independent consulting practice focused on health policy strategic planning and research. My clients included the Public Health Agency of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, and the AIDS Bureau of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
In all these roles, clear written communication that speaks succinctly and directly to its intended readers has been a critically needed skill. It is a skill I have valued and strengthened throughout my career.
